IdleAir maintained a steady pace of adding profitable locations and strategic partnerships in the first half of 2014, reported the company.
IdleAir launched its dedicated fleet terminal initiative in late 2013 and now operates five dedicated facilities with single terminals with each of the following fleets: C.R. England, Con-way Truckload, CalArk, Werner Enterprises and TSI/Panamex.
“Terminal results in 2014 have exceeded expectations with summertime usage at multiple locations exceeding 15 hours/day per IdleAir space,” reported the company. “The success of IdleAir’s terminal initiative has added three more major carriers to its growing list of companies that see IdleAir terminals as part of their fuel savings plans. IdleAir expects to launch five more terminals by early 2015, with demand accelerating for multiple locations within our carrier partners’ footprints.”
In the first half of 2014, IdleAir also completed construction of four additional Pilot Flying J installations: Laredo, Texas; Robinson, Texas, Pearl, Miss.; and Beaverdam, Ohio.
“We expect all these locations to begin full operations this quarter,” said the company.
IdleAir also has construction plans underway for Pilot Flying J locations in Seville, Ohio; Austintown, Ohio; and and Latta, S.C. By early 2015, IdleAir expects to launch eight more travel center locations, including locations in Kentucky and Alabama.
“The strong performance of IdleAir’s new dedicated fleet terminals has validated our ‘dual-path’ strategy,” said Ethan Garber, chief executive officer. “We are creating a scalable hub-and-spoke network of major travel center ‘hub’ locations paired with terminal ‘spokes’ along high traffic corridors.” Garber continued, “By realizing operational efficiencies while providing a high-level of support to our customers, we are able to deliver robust air conditioning savings at half the price of APUs.”
IdleAir has completed the integration of the Convoy Points rewards program with the Pilot MyRewards program. Drivers can now redeem their IdleAir Convoy Points for Pilot MyRewards points, adding a selection of rewards choices for IdleAir customers who fuel regularly at Pilot Flying J. IdleAir has awarded over 20,000,000 Convoy Points, and continues to grow the program to meaningfully reward customers.
In addition to the expanded relationship with Pilot MyRewards, IdleAir has expanded its relationship with Hotels4Truckers. IdleAir locations are now included among Hotels4Truckers listings of truck-friendly accommodations in the MyDAT Trucker app. Hotels4Truckers members will soon receive special discounts on Premium Service at IdleAir locations.
“As the ultimate deep-value lodging solution for OTR drivers, IdleAir is pleased to offer special pricing to members of Hotels4Truckers,” said Ethan Garber. “The Hotels4Truckers package saves drivers half the cost of a hotel, and adds the convenience, comfort, and security of staying with their trucks.”
IdleAir’s ConvoyTV+Power has proven to be particularly popular in cooler months of the year, and is a favorite among bunkheater and APU owners, many of whom spend more than $1,000 per year on this service package, said the company.
The company also noted that its Reset Special is IdleAir’s most discounted package. The Reset Special has been popular even among company drivers whose fleets do not currently reimburse for IdleAir services.
