Mack Trucks announced several enhancements to its Mack Granite MHD model.
The enhancements include:
- A lower horsepower option: 330 HP with 1000 ft./lbs. of torque, as opposed to the standard 350 HP with 1150 ft./lbs. of torque. This power is delivered via the standard MHD powertrain of a Cummins L9 engine and an Allison 3500 transmission.
- Mack is also now offering a tractor option, which is available in 6×4 and 4×2 axle back configuration. The company says that this configuration is geared toward light tractor applications.
- A shorter wheelbase option is also available in the 4×2 configuration, in order to accommodate a 10-ft. dump body.
- The Granite MHD can also be spec’ed with a 33,000 lb. GVW rating, allowing it to be classified as a Class 7 vehicle.
- A new under-frame exhaust gives customers more options for body adaptation, further expanding application capabilities, such as tankers, flatbeds, box trucks, cranes and certain municipal applications, according to Mack.
