The Nauto artificial intelligence-powered fleet safety video system has been added to the Geotab Marketplace. Geotab Marketplace customers can now access Nauto’s Driver Distraction detection abilities and other features directly within the Marketplace platform.

Nauto is a data platform that the company says gives fleets the ability to improve safety and operations, save lives and reduce liability and expenses. Because Nauto learns from other drivers, the road and conditions around vehicles in the Nauto network, fleets equipped with Nauto can automatically capture and upload video of significant events and insights in real time to help fleet managers improve overall driver performance and enhance the safety and efficiency of an entire fleet, the company explained. Nauto’s scoring system, called VERA (Vision Enhanced Risk Assessment) includes a risk rating for the frequency and severity of distraction events. In addition, Nauto’s visual data offers protection against wrongful liability, records collisions and near-misses and can reduce insurance costs.

“Being a Geotab Marketplace partner puts Nauto’s safety solutions in front of a significantly expanded customer base,” said Nauto Chief Executive Officer Stefan Heck. “In addition, at a time when distraction-related accidents are a top reason why our roadways are getting more dangerous and crowded, our driver distraction detection feature alone offers Geotab customers a valuable way for fleets to protect drivers, get feedback and insights on how improve performance and efficiency.”

“We are pleased to add Nauto’s distraction detection feature to the Marketplace,” said Joey Marlow, executive vice president of U.S. operations for Geotab. “Geotab is dedicated to improving fleets of all sizes and our growing Marketplace offers customers a number of solutions in the areas of safety, productivity, regulatory compliance, fleet optimization, and expandability.”
