Penske introduces website for finding alternative fuel stations

Penske Truck Leasing has created a website, www.AltFuelStations.com, to assist the transportation industry with identifying publicly accessible fueling stations for heavy-duty alternative fueled vehicles in the United States and Canada. The stations listed can provide trucks with either compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel.

“We created this tool to assist fleets in finding natural gas fueling options that we were certain would work for their operations,” explained Dean Stapleton, Penske’s alternative fuels manager. “We had already created this resource internally to assist Penske customers, and we thought it best to now make it available to all fleets. The site is mobile-friendly, though we encourage drivers to not access the site while operating their vehicles.”

When locating stations by address, zip code or via smartphone GPS, visitors are provided with:

  • Name of station;
  • Address;
  • Hours of operation;
  • Contact information;
  • Accepted payment methods; and
  • Map to location.

The site will be updated monthly and there are future plans to include propane fueling stations.
