Designed for regional hauls like pickup and delivery operations, as well as a range of vocations such as municipal, construction, refuse, fire service and emergency applications, Model 382 vehicles from Peterbilt Motors Co. can now be fitted with the OEM’s proprietary Air Leaf, Low Air Leaf, and Air Trac drive axle suspensions, the maker said.
Peterbilt added its Air Leaf and Low Air Leaf suspensions are available for single or tandem rear axle configurations and have a rated capacity of up to 40,000 lbs. The Air Trac also is available in both single and tandem drive axle configurations with maximum capacity ratings of 46,000 lbs.
“These suspensions provide a smooth, controlled ride as well as excellent braking and handling features,” said Charles Cook, Peterbilt vocational market segment manager. “The 382 has established a reputation for quality, reliability and serviceability with regional haul Class 8 customers. Offering Peterbilt’s complete lineup of proprietary air suspensions increases specification flexibility for customers so they can optimize the 382 to meet their operational needs.”
