Effective July 1, 2014, John Jacobs retires after thirty-two years as vice president of engineering for Phillips Industries.
According to the company, Jacobs was instrumental in designing and developing many of the products introduced by Phillips since he joined the company in 1982. He holds 10 patents for products that have solved problems facing truck fleet operators and has also lent his support and knowledge to industry organizations including the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Technology Maintenance Council (TMC).
“John has really made Phillips what it is today,” remarked Bob Phillips, past president and chief executive officer of the company. “His skill at intuitively seeing product solutions to everyday problems facing commercial vehicle operators has built the Phillips brand for innovative technology. He will be missed by everyone at Phillips and all those in the industry who have crossed paths with him over the years. We wish him well in retirement.”
In May, Phillips Industries announced the hiring of Dave Lajeunesse as director of engineering to move into the role held by Jacobs prior to his retirement.
