Rotary Lift boosts productivity for Jasper Alternate Fuels

When Jasper Engines & Transmissions needed a new vehicle lift for its growing alternative fuels business, it turned to the Rotary Lift SPO18 heavy-duty two-post lift. The Jasper Alternate Fuels division of the remanufacturer of drivetrain components, including gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, and differentials, offers conversion packages, including alternative fuel engines and accessories, as well as installation. Due to increasing demand for these products, the company needed to install a new heavy-duty vehicle lift dedicated to its alternative fuels business.

“You absolutely must have a heavy-duty lift in order to efficiently perform alternative fuel conversions,” says Doug Bawel, Jasper chairman/CEO. “For example, one loaded CNG tank weighs about 350 lbs. It’s just not practical to expect a technician to lie on his back under a vehicle and lift a 350-lb. component into place.”

The Rotary Lift SPO18 lets technicians raise a vehicle to a comfortable working height so they can use multipurpose jacks to position fuel tanks and other components. The SPO18 has a lifting capacity of 18,000 lbs. and is equipped with a multi-position locking system that engages every four inches and an overhead switch bar to prevent raising a vehicle too high. The lift has been third-party tested by ETL and ALI certified to meet ANSI safety and performance standards.
