SambaSafety, providers of driver risk management solutions, has acquired Vigillo, providers of real-time data for analyzing commercial driver and motor carrier safety performance.
“We are excited to add Vigillo to the growing number of companies that make up SambaSafety as we continue to define driver risk management (DRM) by adding to an already robust platform. Our regulated customers will benefit by utilizing a single risk identification and mitigation dashboard combining both MVR data and CSA data,” said Richard Crawford, chief executive officer of SambaSafety. “Vigillo is the industry leader in CSA monitoring (Carrier Compliance, Safety, Accountability), and this addition greatly fortifies our vision of better drivers, lower risk and safer communities.
“This acquisition helps deliver the promise we have made to our customers: SambaSafety will provide the industry’s most comprehensive solution that identifies and mitigates driver risk,” he continued. We will combine data and software and provide a complete picture of drivers’ performance both on and off the clock. For DOT regulated fleets, pre-hire and post-hire driver records can now be synchronized into driver qualification files to ensure that safe, policy-compliant drivers are on the road.”
“I founded Vigillo 10 years ago with the vision to bring world class data analytics to bear on the complex safety data that surrounds the trucking industry. Our mission and vision was, and remains, to push the boundaries of data analytics to give safety professionals in this vital industry the tools they need to save lives,” said Steve Bryan, president of Vigillo. “This combination with SambaSafety will only serve to accelerate that mission. I couldn’t be more excited and look forward to many more years working with the amazing people that make up America’s greatest industry.”
