Transfer Flow Inc. announced the release of the largest aftermarket replacement fuel tank for the 2017 Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty short bed, crew cab diesel trucks. The hot-dipped aluminum alloy steel tank nearly doubles the original useable fuel capacity, storing a total of 60 gallons of diesel.

The 60-gal. replacement fuel tank is 100% engineered and manufactured in the U.S.A. with 12-gauge aluminized steel for superior strength and corrosion resistance. The unique design features exterior fuel lines and a relocated water separator to make the most of the available chassis space, and comes with a full installation kit, the company says.

“Our goal when engineering the new 60-gallon replacement tank was to increase the fuel capacity as much as possible while maintaining the durability and integrity of the truck,” said Todd LaPant, Transfer Flow’s director of engineering. “The 2017 Ford Super Duty is an elite truck that is unbelievably capable, so it will easily be the truck of choice for many who are towing fifth wheels and those needing to get into the backcountry. We’ve designed a replacement tank that extends both the luxury and brute strength of the vehicle even further.”

FlowBelow Aero, Inc., has introduced its new AeroFender, a device that is equipped to truck wheels and reduces drag on day- and sleeper-cabs. FlowBelow tells us that the AeroFender improves fuel efficiency by re-directing the airflow ahead of and around a power unit’s leading drive axle.

At a controlled track test completed in November 2023 by Mesilla Valley Transportation Solutions, FlowBelow says its technology was proven to save 1.49 gallons of fuel for every 1,000 miles driven, or 1.44% overall. The company says that fleets can expect a truck equipped with an AeroFender and traveling 125,000 miles per year to save an estimated 187 gallons of fuel and approximately 4,207.5 lbs. of CO2.
