WABCO enters into supply agreement with JMCH in China

WABCO, supplier of technologies that improve the safety and efficiency of commercial vehicles, has announced that it has entered into several long-term supply agreements with JMCH, an established major truck manufacturer based in China that is expanding into the heavy-duty truck segment.

WABCO’s new business involves wheel-end solutions, including air-disc brakes, as well as conventional brake valves, other brake components and clutch servo technology. WABCO will support two new and separate platforms for the customer’s different brands of medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Series production is planned to begin in three years for the Chinese market and expected export to Southeast Asia. WABCO China further differentiated its offering for this customer through highly cost-effective wheel-end solutions specially designed to satisfy local market requirements.

Among other vehicle safety and efficiency technologies, WABCO will supply JMCH with industry-leading MAXX air disc brakes (ADB) – the industry’s lightest and highest performing single-piston ADB for commercial vehicles. WABCO’s MAXX air disc brake technology fits any wheel size from 17.5 to 22.5 inches across light-, medium- and heavy-duty applications for trucks, buses and trailers. As a result, WABCO’s MAXX braking technology fits virtually every wheel size of commercial vehicles around the globe.

WABCO production will also take place in Europe, Turkey and Brazil.

“WABCO is proud to become JMCH’s new supplier of choice as we had fully anticipated their vehicle safety and efficiency needs for their different platforms serving the Chinese market and other potential economies in Southeast Asia,” said Sujie Yu, WABCO’s vice president, Asia Pacific. “Winning this new business further demonstrates how WABCO creates a world of difference for customers through technology leadership, global engineering and manufacturing, and excellence in execution in the face of diverse and dynamic market demands.”
