Alcoa extends Dura-Bright surface treatment option to M-Series medium-duty wheels

Alcoa Inc.‘s wheel and transportation products unit is now offering its Dura-Bright wheels with XBR technology to the medium-duty truck segment.

Alcoa’s no-polish Dura-Bright wheels were unveiled at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, Ind. The Dura-Bright production process penetrates the forged aluminum, which “holds the shine even after hundreds of washes and thousands of miles.” Using Dura-Bright wheels eliminates the need for caustic cleaning products, protecting the environment and reducing maintenance costs.

Each wheel in the M-Series collection provides the same benefits that Alcoa’s forged aluminum wheels provide to heavy-duty (Class 7 & 8) customers, but are customized to fit medium-duty applications. All Alcoa wheels resist corrosion to reduce wheel maintenance costs and maintain the clean bright look that fleets deserve.  At nearly half the weight of a steel wheel, Alcoa M-Series wheels improve fuel economy, reduce carbon emissions and are recyclable.

Alcoa’s M-Series wheels are designed to improve straight trucks, cab-overs and low deck trailers in the towing, beverage, emergency, delivery, food processing, retail/wholesale, utility and refuse industries. Specifically the wheels are manufactured for Dodge, Ford, Freightliner, Fuso, General Motors, Hino, International, Isuzu, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Smith and Sprinter vehicle makes.
