Allison Transmission is collaborating with Geotab to provide connected capabilities for distribution fleets.
“This partnership is the first step on a journey to provide fleets with actionable information to support their fourth- and fifth-generation Allison transmissions,” Indianapolis-based Allison Transmission said in a news release.
The partnership will add Allison’s diagnostic codes to Geotab’s web-based software to deliver transmission-health information—such as oil and filter life—to fleet managers.

“We are looking forward to providing our customers with health information for their Allison transmissions,” said Scott Sutarik, Geotab’s associate vice president commercial vehicle solutions. “With MyGeotab, our web-based fleet-management software, customers can see all of their vehicle and driver information in one place to help make quicker, better-informed decisions for their business.”
Allison is working with telematics service providers and original equipment manufacturers to support existing and new customers with connected capabilities, according to the company. Allison noted that it is planning support for additional vocations and global regions.
