ArvinMeritor launches production of remanufactured trailer axles to meet customers’ needs

ArvinMeritor Inc. has added a major new component to its portfolio of quality remanufactured components –– trailer axles –– initially targeted at the North American intermodal motor carriers. Production began earlier this month at the company’s 270,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility.

“This is a natural expansion of our remanufactured offerings and builds on our company’s long-time trailer axle expertise,” said Doug Wolma, general manager of ArvinMeritor’s remanufacturing business. “The customers and end-users recognize the value of our remanufactured components, and to offer trailer axles as part of our portfolio is fully complementary to our strong OE offerings.”

The remanufactured trailer axles, as with the other reman components, are produced according to strict, engineering-approved specifications. The axles have the full corporate resources of ArvinMeritor behind them, both in terms of OE engineering and technical field support.
For over 22 years, ArvinMeritor has remanufactured axle-brake components, first with axle differentials and followed by brake shoes, manual transmissions, wedge brake actuators, wedge brakes cylinders, and transfer cases.

As the leading OE supplier of trailer axles, ArvinMeritor offers customers intimate knowledge of superior component performance and dependable operation. Similarly, the company supports this portfolio with comprehensive aftermarket technical and specs support, now complete with reman trailer axles.

ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket group, based in Florence, Ky., offers replacement parts for the company’s braking systems, drive axles, trailer axles and suspension products in North America, Europe, and South America. Distributed under the Meritor and Euclid brands, ArvinMeritor’s aftermarket parts are precision engineered to original equipment specifications and carry the industry’s best aftermarket warranty, the company said.

ArvinMeritor Inc. is a premier global supplier of a broad range of integrated systems, modules and components to the motor vehicle industry. The company serves light vehicle, commercial truck, trailer and specialty original equipment manufacturers and certain aftermarkets. For more information, visit http://www.arvinmeritor.com.
