Bridgestone Commercial Solutions (BCS) introduced its new Bridgestone Ecopia truck tire and Bandag FuelTech retread solution. These two product lines – five new tires and four retreads – are designed to work together. Specially engineered compounds paired with matching retread patterns promote an eco-friendly solution that continues optimal low rolling resistance from new Ecopia tire to FuelTech retread while extending casing life.
According to the maker, Bandag retreads have been helping fleets reduce one of their top operating costs – tires – for over 50 years. Retreads offer high performance and long life at a greatly reduced acquisition cost. With FuelTech retreads, fleets can also cut their number one operating cost: fuel. Bridgestone Ecopia technology found in the casing that contributes to lower rolling resistance and optimum fuel efficiency carries through to the retreading side of the equation.
FuelTech also uses advanced tread compounds to reduce rolling resistance and innovative tread design that promotes long, even wear, the tire maker said. Combined with the Ecopia casing, fuel efficiency benefits are extended from new tire to retread while extending tire life. Bandag FuelTech retreads are available in tread patterns that complement Bridgestone Ecopia new tires, including the B710 FuelTech drive retread and B197 FuelTech trailer pattern.
For users of wide-base singles, there are Bandag B835 FuelTech and B135 FuelTech (based on the new Bridgestone Greatec M835 Ecopia drive and Greatec R135 Ecopia trailer radials). Bridgestone Ecopia and Bandag FuelTech tires are designed for optimum rolling resistance while maximizing removal mileage and retreadability – for a lower total cost of ownership, the company added.
