Michelin North America’s BFGoodrich brand introduced its newest SmartWay-verified commercial truck tire, the DR454 drive tire. With the addition of the DR454 drive tire, BFGoodrich now offers a total Smartway verified solution for highway applications.
The BFGoodrich DR454 SmartWay-verified highway drive tire offers a rolling resistance rating of 100 and is designed to meet the fuel efficiency expectations, carrier certifications and regulations of highway and super regional applications, said Donna Murphy, BFGoodrich business segment manager.
Murphy also noted that the DR454 will not replace that DR444. “The DR444 is great for mileage while the DR454 performs best for fuel savings,” Murphy said. “The two complement each other.”
The BFGoodrich DR454 was released May 14 and is available now. The tire comes in 11R22.5 and 275/80R22.5 sizes (Load Range G) and, as featured on the DR444, retreadibility comes standard.
