An all-position Firestone radial tire for on/off-highway use has been introduced by Bridgestone Commercial Solutions, a business of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations. The Firestone FS820 for steer, drive and trailer positions features a five-rib design to combat stone retention, an all-steel casing and cap/base compounding, and multiple zigzag gripping edges for wet traction. Available now is the FS820 in 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 sizes. A 315/80R22.5 version will available later this year.
Bridgestone Commercial Solutions has also unveiled three new Firestone tires for regional and long haul applications. The FS591, FD691 and FT491 meet SmartWay and California Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements with the manufacturer’s NanoPro-Tech polymer technology, which the company says limits energy loss for improved rolling resistance and optimum fuel efficiency. Included in the product line are the FS591 steer, FD691 drive and FT491 all-position radials.
