In the April 2015 edition of Fleet Equipment, contributing editor John Martin updated readers on the EPA’s call for a new category of diesel oil performance—PC-11.
Martin wrote:
“When the Engine Manufacturers Association (EMA), reacting to the EPA’s call for reduced greenhouse gases (GHG), requested a new level of diesel oil performance several years ago, they requested oils which would provide improved:
- Fuel economy;
- High-temperature performance;
- Protection from oil aeration;
- Protection against cylinder scuffing; &
- Biodiesel fuel compatibility.”
Recently, Fleet Equipment spoke with Chevron’s Len Badal about the company’s take on PC-11. The company is in the process of putting together a plan for the new category. The infographic below describes the company’s plan for Delo 400 for PC-11.
