There’s an assumption that truck technology will make your job as the fleet manager easier by doing things for you. Personally, I think that’s wrong. Technology will enable your fleet to be more efficient, more productive and ultimately work harder. Technology is the tool through which more work will be done. If you’re like me, you’re already using tons of technology–you’re connected, you’re engaged and there’s no shortage of work to do. Writing an email is easier than writing a letter, I’ll give you that, but it only means that I can send more messages. And so it goes for truck technology–it increased the speed at which your able to work. Swiping and clicking is relatively easy, the hard part will be working with the other people within your fleet to ensure you’re on the same page. That’s why the publisher and editors of Fleet Equipment have launched a brand new content platform: Fleet Service Technology.
