Continental launches Ameristeel tire line

Continental Tire the Americas is launching a new line of commercial vehicle tires, which will be known as Ameristeel by General Tire.

“We’re very excited to offer a line of products for our customers who want a balance of both affordability and performance to suit their needs,” said Alex Chmiel, marketing director for commercial vehicles tires for Continental. “We recognize the market need for this level of product, and we’ve stepped up to make a high-quality line that will be produced locally here in the U.S.A.”

The Ameristeel S380A long haul steer tire features a decoupler groove that extends tread life and offers consistent performance in over the road applications, the company said, adding that the Ameristeel D460 long haul/regional drive tire offers flexible, long lasting performance and reliability. Regional tires in this line include the Ameristeel S360 all-position design and Ameristeel D450 drive tire with an open shoulder design.
