Continental Tire North America, Inc. (CTNA) is introducing the General S371 all-position truck tire to the North American market. It was developed primarily for regional haul on/off road us and replaces the General S370.
The General S371 features a 20/32-inch tread depth with a cut and chip resistant tread compound for longer tread life in on/off road conditions. The tread compound is formulated to provide better mileage on-highway as well as enhanced resistance to cuts and tears from off-road use, the company said. With a premium load range H casing and stone ejectors in all tread grooves, the tire further reduces stone retention allowing for long life and multiple retreads.
The tire also features Continental’s visual alignment indicators located on the shoulder ribs, which permits users to visually identify tire tracking irregularities within the first 5/32-inch of tire wear so that mechanical adjustments to the vehicle can be made in order to extend the life of the tire, the company said. Recommended applications include bottom dumps, end dumps, coal haulers, school buses, waste haulers, beverage trucks and local pick up and delivery.
The General S371 is available in the following sizes: 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 285/75R24.5 and 295/75R22.5.
