Stuart suggests:
As fleet experiences with DPFs increase, some are finding they need to be more aware of the filters and basic maintenance at the time of an engine related failure. I suggest that fleets start to pay more attention to DPF condition, particularly if there has been an engine failure of any kind. And to protect yourself, make sure you are checking DPFs while they are still under warranty. If there is a failure, find out why and what! Make sure you and your technicians understand when to ask the questions, check with your supporting dealer and request support.
