Fleet Advantage, a provider of truck leasing and information technology services, has appointed Daniel Umphress as vice president of fleet services, effective immediately. He will be based in the company’s corporate headquarters.
Umphress will be responsible for helping Fleet Advantage’s fleet customers develop lighter vehicle specifications, implement fuel cost-cutting strategies, improve customer vehicle utilization and warranty recovery, and integrate other cost savings and environmentally-friendly measures, according to the company.
“We are pleased to have Dan join our team to help facilitate our prime directive of reducing costs and improving environmental outcomes for private fleets,”" said John Flynn, president and CEO. “His 30 years’ experience in supply chain efficiencies, maintenance and repair cost reduction, vehicle weight reduction, and commitment to the environment make him a valuable addition on behalf of our customers.”
Previously, Umphress served as managing director of vehicle solutions for FedEx Freight Systems and vice president of fleet maintenance, American Freightways. He is a FedEx Five Star Award recipient and the immediate past chairman of Technical Advisory Group and a director-at-large on the board of directors of the Technology and Maintenance Council.
