Ford Motor Co. is planning to launch full battery-electric F-150 and Super Duty pickups, company officials told investment analysts recently, according to a report from the Detroit News.
According to the report, Jim Farley, Ford’s president of global markets, said, “We’re going to be electrifying the F-Series, both battery-electric and hybrid. And we’re doing the same for Transit.”
Other than the confirmation that this is in the plans, Ford is offering little detail on the battery electric trucks so far, including when it will go on sale. The hybrid F-150 is expected to be available in 2020.
