Hino Trucks partners with Telogis for next-gen telematics

Hino Trucks has partnered exclusively with Telogis to release its next-generation platform for Hino INSIGHT, the company’s web-based location and telematics solution tailored for the medium-duty commercial truck market.

Hino INSIGHT 2.0 powered by Telogis supports Hino’s ongoing commitment to provide customers with improved total cost of ownership, better vehicle uptime and world-class user experiences, said the manufacturer. Hino said that the updated platform will help customers save money, increase safety and improve operations by providing the mission-critical information they require to optimize their fleets.

Hino INSIGHT 2.0 powered by Telogis will launch this summer and continue to be standard fit on 2015 MY Hino 195h and 195h-DC hybrid models and as an option on the 195 and 195-DC models and the full conventional truck product lineup.

Coastal Waste & Recycling took delivery of its first battery-electric refuse vehicle, the Mack LR Electric model. Mack executives handed over the vehicle during an e-mobility event with the company in Pompano Beach, FL.

Mack tells us that the Coastal Waste & Recycling LR Electric is equipped with an automated side loader. The two companies worked together to develop favorable routing for the LR Electric to ensure that the refuse truck will complete a full day’s work in residential and certain specialized commercial applications.
