Hunter’s new pit racks provide easy servicing

Hunter said its new pit racks feature an 18,000-lb. capacity and 22.5-in. runway width to handle a wide range of vehicles. Both the P441 and P444 models are available with 36-, 30- or 24-in. pedestals, depending on desired pit depth. An optional center pit is also available.

New Hunter pit racks offer greater capacities and capabilities for easy service, the company said. Both the P441 and P444 feature an 18,000-lb. capacity and 22.5-in. runway width to handle a wide range of vehicles. The P441 provides maximum wheelbase limits of 177 in. (two-wheel alignment) and 158 in. (four-wheel alignment). The longer P444 provides maximum wheelbase limits of 211 in. (two-wheel alignment) and 158 in. (four-wheel alignment). Each model is available with 36-, 30- or 24-in. pedestals, depending on desired pit depth. An optional center pit is also available.

The lifts further improve service efficiency with optional timesaving features.  Select models include Hunter’s Fully Integrated Alignment (FIA) console, PowerSlide system and Inflation Station feature.

The FIA console allows Hunter’s WinAlign aligners to communicate directly to the rack to automatically operate the PowerSlide system and to set tire pressure limits for Inflation Station, according to the company. PowerSlide automatically locks and unlocks turnplates and slipplates as needed during an alignment, eliminating multiple trips around the vehicle and the hassle of removing and replacing lock pins.

Inflation Station speeds service and ensures more accurate alignments by automatically setting tire pressure for each wheel simultaneously with air hose reels integrated into the rack runways at each wheel position.  The tire pressure can be preset at the rack console or the aligner, the company said.
