Mack Trucks has fully launched Mack Over the Air, a remote service that enables customers to update software remotely without disrupting their schedules.
Mack originally announced Over the Air in September of 2016, and thus far has made it available to 20 customers and about 3,500 vehicles. Mack says that so far the average time for its customers for a remote update has been 23 minutes. Now, Over the Air is becoming more widely available.
Mack Over the Air is available on all 2018 model year Mack truck models with 2017 GHG Mack engines and the GuardDog Connect telematics system.
In a similar vein, Mack also detailed several improvements to GuardDog Connect. Among them, Mack:
- Increased staffing at Mack OneCall centers by 50%;
- Invested $2.5M in technology for data analytics;
- Tripled the number of fault codes available; and
- Enhanced the repair information available in Mack Asist.
“You’ve got to have a strong foundation and the technology to back it up if you’re going to provide what we like to call application excellence,” commented Roy Horton, Mack’s director of product strategy.
