North American motor carriers are expressing "significant satisfaction" with Maxion Wheels’ MaxCoat triple-protection coating in a new video of the MaxCoat process that is now featured on the company’s website (click on the MaxCoat rotating banner on the Coatings page).
The protective MaxCoat coating is offered as a standard feature on most wheels for the North American market, the company says, to improve durability, reduce maintenance costs and provide better paint adhesion. The proprietary process includes an undercoating of zinc-phosphate, followed by a mid-coat of epoxy electro-deposition primer (EDP), and a topcoat. The result, according to Maxion Wheels, is corrosion protection that exceeds ASTM B117 salt-spray testing requirements.
