An all weather traction retread, optimized for severe winter conditions, has been introduced by Michelin Retread Technologies. The Michelin XDS 2 Pre-Mold drive tire retread, according to the company, can provide a 10% improvement in tread life over the XDS Pre-Mold.

The XDS 2 Pre-Mold, with 25/32nd of tread depth, features sipes with zigzag groove walls, along with V-shaped transverse shoulder grooves for traction, an engineered tread compound for wear resistance in high scrub applications, a wide contact patch for force distribution, and a directional tread that reduces heal/toe wear.
