Omnitracs registers its ELD with FMCSA

Omnitracs LLC has completed testing on its electronic logging device (ELD) solution that meets the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)’s ELD Mandate, which goes into effect on Dec. 18. Omnitracs’ Intelligent Vehicle Gateway (IVG) is now registered with the FMCSA on their self-certification list, which ensures that users of current Omnitracs solutions will be compliant with the ELD Mandate prior to the deadline.

“Although many of our customers have been using AOBRDs for years, the mandate means that fleets must take a closer look at their practices to ensure compliance,” said David Vice, Omnitracs’ CSO. “Early on, we committed the resources necessary to develop and test a road-ready solution. We take our position as a leader and innovator in the fleet management industry very seriously and are committed to maintaining a standard of excellence with our product offerings and customer service initiatives.”

As additional preparation for the ELD Mandate, Omnitracs says it enhanced its system architecture and security measures to handle the anticipated increase in data traffic. To improve the user experience, Omnitracs also updated its entire suite of applications to improve safety, productivity, and ease of use, the company added.
