Dana’s aftermarket business boosts digital strategy

To drive and support the growth of its aftermarket business, Dana Holding Corp. said it has launched a redesigned Spicer parts website that connects to new specialty sites, as well as four social media channels.

The SVL line will initially launch in North America and feature universal joints for the light and commercial vehicle markets, and ring and pinion gear sets for heavy-duty applications. Shortly following the launch, Dana will begin offering SVL-branded light-duty axle components.

Dana debuts tandem drive axles, Spicer aluminum driveshafts

Dana Holding Corp. introduced a new series of lightweight, one-piece aluminum driveshafts for the commercial truck market. The Spicer Diamond Series driveshaft weighs 40% less than traditional two-piece steel driveshafts, has fewer parts and helps reduce problems associated with noise, vibration and harshness.

Dana introduces service-free U-joints for SPL driveshafts

The new service-free universal-joints added to the company’s heavy-duty Spicer Life Series driveshafts deliver a permanently lubricated driveline that reduces maintenance costs over the life of the product. The new SPL-250 and SPL-170 models have been designed for main and tandem drive inter-axle driveshaft applications for a variety of Class 8 heavy-duty truck applications.

Dana completes upgrades to Spicer Life Series driveshafts

The company said it has now upgraded the performance and durability features of its entire lineup of SPL heavy-duty universal joints. the new SPL-170 universal joint assembly features a bearing package that includes larger needle bearings for increased capacity, a special Viton synthetic seal for improved grease retention and serviceability, and a thermoplastic seal guard to exclude contaminants.

Dana’s new line of Spicer axles ready for medium-duty fleets

Dana Holding Corp.’s new Spicer S140 Series axles are designed to improve fuel economy, reduce maintenance costs, increase operator comfort and boost overall vehicle performance. The company said the single-drive, medium-duty axles are nearly 100 lbs. lighter compared with current competitive medium-duty axles and 85 lbs. lighter than the current Spicer axle. Also, with an initial Roadranger lubrication drain at 250,000 miles and 32% less lubrication required overall, they are easier to maintain and more environmentally friendly, the company said.

New Dana Spicer convertible tag axles offered

Dana Holding Corp. says its new Spicer tag axles improve fuel efficiency, reduce vehicle weight and lower OEM installation costs while enabling fleets and owner-operators to easily convert a 6×2 arrangement into a 6×4 configuration. Fuel economy improvements have been estimated to be up to 3%, depending on application variables.
