Hino Trucks hosted several hundred dealers at its National Parts Conference this week in Las Vegas, and I had the cool opportunity to host live podcasts during the show with the Hino Trucks team, suppliers and dealers. The conversation spanned the gamut of industry talking points–from dealing with supply chain and service challenges to answering the EV and decarbonization unknowns.

The two trucks that flanked the podcast stage–one a tried-and-true diesel and the other the latest in battery electric–was a fitting visual metaphor for the crossroads facing trucking. There’s more to come as we digest the conversation content and prep it to roll large in Fleet Equipment. Until then, enjoy this photo gallery tour of the event.

What have been some of the key themes so far? If you guessed EVs, you'd be right... sort of. While the race to the electrified future is always top of mind when talking about industry developments, this year, another big "E" took center stage, and that is efficiency. Many companies seem to be focusing on improving current generation technology to make sure fleets can get the most out of the money they've invested in their trucks.
