Pro-Vision expands rear, side vision camera lineup

Pro-Vision Video Systems has added the new VLP Series Night Vision Camera to its expanding lineup of rear and side vision cameras. The camera offers both built-in night vision and audio to further aid in the elimination of blind spots and reduce backing accidents involving commercial vehicles.

With the addition of special infrared LED illuminators, drivers will experience a brighter and longer viewing range in low-light conditions; night vision gives drivers a clear picture of their surroundings even in total darkness, the company said. The built-in microphone gives drivers an additional tool to help them avoid potential accidents; audio functionality helps drivers detect obstacles in and around the camera’s view. The camera also offers a 150° field-of-view to allow for improved obstacle detection while operating in reverse. The camera also includes a five-year warranty.

“There are approximately 300,000 reported backing accidents in the U.S. every year,” said Sam Lehnert, marketing manager at Pro-Vision. “Data also tells us that most of these accidents could have been avoided with a rear vision camera system.” By adding a reliable backup camera system and recording what happens in and around commercial vehicles, companies can save both time and money with fewer backing accidents and reduced liability.
