Parker solenoid valve helps heavy-duty trucks meet anti-idling restrictions

Courtesy of a novel solenoid valve design, heavy-duty trucks and buses can keep drivers’ cabs warm or cool without idling engines, according to Parker Hannifin. A recently introduced Industrial Climate Control Solution from the company offers an on/off valve with terminations that plug into trucks’ auxiliary equipment to regulate heating and cooling systems. The valve was developed by Parker Fluid Control Division, manufacturers of the Skinner and Gold Ring lines of solenoid valves and the Sinclair Collins line of process control valves.

Arctic Breeze Truck AC battery powered cooling system fits sleeper or day cabs

Hammond Air Conditioning has developed Arctic BREEZE Truck AC — a battery powered cooling system available for both sleeper and day cabs. Arctic BREEZE systems come in a boxed kit with all necessary components included and can be installed in 5-6 hours. “Unlike diesel-powered auxiliary power units, this system is quiet, vibration free and uses sustainable energy resources,” says Jeff Lemon, Hammond’s senior system designer.
