Meritor FUELite tandem axle saves weight, boosts fuel efficiency

The FUELite tandem axle, the first member of Meritor’s SoloDrive Series axles, is designed for line-haul applications to maximize weight savings and increase fuel efficiency. It delivers nearly 400 lbs. in weight savings and approximately a 2% increase in fuel efficiency when compared to a traditional 6×4 configuration.

Meritor has equipped trucks with more than 100,000 14X tandem drive axles since the product’s launch less than two years ago. The company added its 14X axle handles up to 2,050 ft.-lbs. of torque and provides fleets with reduced maintenance and downtime.

Ridewell releases new disc brake axle

The company’s new axle is available with WABCO PAN 22 air disc brakes and features a 5-in. diameter axle and 0.59-in. wall; parallel spindle; and a hub piloted, 11.25-in. diameter bolt circle long stud for aluminum wheels.

Meritor adds MTA25, MTA30 to trailer suspension series

The new MTA25 (25,000-lb. capacity) and MTA30 (30,000-lb. capacity) suspensions are durable and lightweight, and have a unique, patent-pending axle wrap design for a secure and durable axle connection. They also offer larger, more robust shock absorbers that are specifically tuned to the MTA suspension with three times the damping power of competitors, the company said.

Western Star introduces two new suspension options

The company’s Neway 60,000-lb. capacity AD 260 Tandem air suspension system is available for all Western Star truck models utilizing Dana D60-190 axles, while its 40,000-lb. TufTrac All Wheel Drive high-performance vocational suspension is also available as an option for the Western Star 4800 with 40,000-lb. axles.

Hutch 440 designed for dump trailer applications

Hutchens Industries said its Hutch 440 Single Point Suspensions optimally perform over tough terrain and in intense operating conditions, as well as general over-the-road applications, come standard with 38-in. spring centers, and have a unit weight capacity rating of 44,000 lbs.

SAF-Holland opens aftermarket distribution center

The company’s new Aftermarket Parts Distribution Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, will supply replacement parts to SAF-Holland distribution centers and customers throughout the U.S., Mexico and Canada. The center stocks over 3,000 different parts, assemblies and service kits and employs 11 service personnel.
