SAF-Holland updates, expands CBX trailer suspension offerings

The company’s CBX Series Suspension System includes the new Fusion Beam Technology, an innovative approach to trailing arm beam design. It is currently being integrated into the CBX Series lineup of suspension systems including the CBX40, CBX23, CBX25 and the CBX25/30, according to the company.

Sun-Tech offers Balance Masters for drive shafts

The new Balance Masters, for drive shafts from 2-in. to 5 5/8-in. in diameter, mount 1 to 2 in. from either end of the driveshaft and only require one balancer per length of shaft. The liquid metal (mercury) technology works by centrifugal force, positioning the metal for the best balance possible at all speeds.

Hendrickson bumper and trim recommended for VPP Star Status

Hendrickson’s bumper and trim facility was recognized as a Star site, the highest recognition within OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program. The site was ranked highly for housekeeping, employee involvement, engineering controls, a comprehensive wellness program and a comprehensive software program designed to track and evaluate accidents, near misses, recordable incidents and training.

Service videos help maintain steering gear applications

R H Sheppard has added video service instructions to its website. The videos detail exactly how to repair the company’s steering gears. While not meant to replace the company’s tech hotline, the videos serve as an enhancement for service technicians who install and/or repair the wide array of parts that R H Sheppard has to offer.

Dana debuts tandem drive axles, Spicer aluminum driveshafts

Dana Holding Corp. introduced a new series of lightweight, one-piece aluminum driveshafts for the commercial truck market. The Spicer Diamond Series driveshaft weighs 40% less than traditional two-piece steel driveshafts, has fewer parts and helps reduce problems associated with noise, vibration and harshness.

Innovative drive axle, braking solutions unveiled by Meritor

The new solutions are focused on fuel economy improvements and meeting upcoming, more stringent stopping distance FMVSS-121 requirements. Meritor’s lightweight enhancement to its new 14X axle family is a 100-lb. lighter aluminum carrier option, available in 2012. The company also detailed the benefits of an advanced rear axle concept “with the ability to achieve optimized weight reductions and corresponding payload increases of more than 1,000 lbs. and increase fuel efficiency by 10%.”

Hendrickson launches next generation Steertek NXT

The newest product is the next generation of the road-proven, weight saving Steertek fabricated front steer axle. It will accommodate a variety of wheel end and knuckle designs and features scalable architecture to meet a capacity range of 8,000 to 23,000 lbs. NXT saves up to 47 lbs. compared to traditional I-beam axles while combining rigid strength, outstanding maneuverability and reduced maintenance.

Triangle offers lightweight replacement spring for Mack suspensions

Triangle’s lightweight replacement for the Mack camelback leaf spring provides fleets with a savings of approximately 216 lbs. per vehicle without sacrificing performance. The replacement spring was field tested on a variety of vehicles, including front- and rear-loading refuse trucks, roll-offs and dump trucks.

Ridewell adds new suspensions to RAR-260 trailer suspension family

Tall mounting height, 25K capacity, overslung RAR-260 suspensions are now available with weld-on and bolt-on hangers. The bolt pattern for these suspensions is compatible with industry standard bolt-on patterns. The company also added tall mounting height 30K weld-ons and a high-travel 30K overslung.

Hutchens introduces Series 10 slider with upgraded features

The Series 10 Slider, a lighter-weight, extremely durable subframe, is perfect for van/refrigerated trailers requiring a 48-in. nominal frame width and 49-in. axle centers. It works with all current Hutchens van slider body rails and also can be used in place of the H9801 spring slider since it produces the same mounting height.

New Hendrickson trailer suspension trims 80 pounds

The streamlined design of the HT 250YS allows for an easy replacement for current Y-beam suspensions. The suspension, which will be introduced at the upcoming Mid-America Trucking Show, is 80 lbs. lighter than its popular counterpart, the HT 250 Y-beam suspension developed exclusively for lowboy applications.
