Gulf Hydrocarbon offers red biodiesel

Gulf Hydrocarbon, a provider of biodiesel to the petroleum industry, added dyed red biodiesel to its product line at IFL terminal in Houston.  The dye red is automatically blended into biodiesel at the loading rack in the terminal, mixed according to IRS protocol using a mechanical injection system to insert the dye red into the biodiesel.

Chevron offers free lube course in Spanish

Chevron’s Lubricants University, an online training resource offering information on relevant technologies and trends in the lubrication and maintenance industry, said it will offer its “Fundamentals of Lubrication” training course in Spanish.

ConocoPhillips oils OK with new Cat specs

ConocoPhillips Co. announced that its line of API CJ-4 diesel engine oils are compliant with the new Caterpillar Engine Crankcase Fluid (ECF) -2 and ECF-1-a specifications. These products, which were previously qualified as Cat ECF-3, were designed for use in the 2007 or later model engines equipped with diesel particulate filters (DPF) and catalysts for exhaust aftertreatment.

Chevron offers new synthetic gear lubricant

Chevron’s Delo brand of engine oils, lubricants and coolants introduced Delo Synthetic Gear Lubricant SAE 75W-90. The new product, which offers outstanding thermal and oxidation stability and meets all OEM warranty requirements, is suitable for use in rear axles and differentials for fleets in the commercial transportation and construction markets, the company said.

Chevron oils meet Cat specs

Chevron Products Co. announced its API CJ-4 and API CI-4 PLUS heavy-duty diesel engine oils meet the new Caterpillar ECF-2 specification. As of March 1, 2007, Caterpillar recommends the use of ECF-2 for pre-2007 on-road and any off-road Caterpillar engines no bigger than the C3500.

ConocoPhillips changes KLAS program

ConocoPhillips Co. announced several changes to Kendall Motor Oil’s Kendall Lubricants Analysis System (KLAS) oil analysis program.  Effective Jan. 1, 2007, ConocoPhillips aligned its software service provider with its oil analysis testing laboratory, consolidated contact phone numbers into one comprehensive support line and enhanced training opportunities, according to Steven Tarbox, director of product management, ConocoPhillips Lubricants.

Castrol introduces next-generation of Tection Extra

BP Lubricants USA Inc said it plans to launch the re-engineered formulation of Castrol Tection Extra.  Scheduled for release in January 2007, Tection Extra exceeds the new CJ-4 specifications as defined by the American Petroleum Institute (API) classification of lubricants and exceeds the 2007 Original Engine Manufacturers (OEM) lubricants requirements in response to the new emission standards enforced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
