Thermo King planning for EPA Tier 4 Final compliant solutions

Beginning Jan. 1, 2013, Thermo King will be offering its new Precedent platform for refrigeration units to meet EPA Tier 4 standards for both fuel efficiency and emissions control. The platform will include greater than 25 HP single- and multi-temperature models and less than 25 HP single temperature models.

Carrier Transicold offers new EcoForward Technologies

Systems with EcoForward technologies include 2.2-liter diesel engines with additional sensors and electronic control modules. Performance gains from the application of EcoForward technologies mean engine power can be reduced by 18% to 20%, putting them within the scope of EPA’s Tier 4 standard for non-highway engines rated at 11 to 25 HP.

According to the company, these innovative coils increase fuel efficiency and sustainability, reduce lifetime cost of ownership and improve reliability for greater up-time compared to trailer refrigeration units equipped with tube-and-fin condenser coils.

Carrier Transicold’s newest reefers offer ‘best’ warranty

Carrier Transicold introduced two new models in its X2 series of trailer refrigeration units, the 2500 APX and 2100 APX, which the company said both feature the innovative APX control system as well as the industry’s most comprehensive warranty. The warranty for 2500 APX and 2100 APX units includes 60-month/10,000-hour coverage for the microprocessor module.

Thermo King adds products to lower costs, boost efficiency

The company introduced TracKing featuring Wi-Fi technology, a web-based asset management system, and CargoLink wireless door sensors, which communicate to the refrigeration unit to shut off when the door is open, reducing fuel and maintenance costs.
