WABCO introduces integrated tire monitoring solution

The company said its new IVTM (Integrated Vehicle Tire Pressure Monitoring) uses external wheel-mounted sensors to constantly measure tire pressure and wirelessly transmit information to an electronic control unit, which alerts the driver to tire pressure changes either through the factory-installed dashboard display or via an easily mounted dedicated display.

Bridgestone unveils new Akron Tech Center

The tire maker’s new Americas Technical Center in Akron, Ohio, houses 450 employees whose jobs are to develop innovative and advanced tire technologies for the company. The $100 million facility is located near Bridgestone’s old tech center and former headquarters.

GT Radial introduces SmartWay-verified trailer tire

The new GT Radial GT979 FS trailer tire joins the tire maker’s GSL213 FS steer tire and GT669+ FS drive tire as being U.S. EPA SmartWay-verified, meaning each of the products reduce emissions and provide an estimated fuel savings of 3% or greater against market leading on-highway commercial truck tires.
