Thermo King recently completed the latest field testing of its evolve electric trailer with the Michigan-based retailer Meijer, which operates one of the largest fleets in Michigan.
During its time with Meijer, the company notes that the technology was used for single-temperature grocery transport and data was tracked using Thermo King’s TracKing telematics. With this connected solution, operational and route analysis information was captured to assist with the development of future electric operations, according to Thermo King.
To date, Thermo King’s single-temperature electric trailer has logged nearly 4,000 hours of customer trials with more to come throughout 2023, which will also include an electric multi-temperature demonstrator unit.
