Long haul steer tires
Goodyear launched the Goodyear Fuel Max LHS, a fuel-efficient long haul steer tire to compliment its fuel-efficiency focused long haul drive tire. According to company, the combination of the Goodyear Fuel Max LHD G505D and the Goodyear Fuel Max LHS saves, on average and does well compared to other comparable, major tire brands. In addition to fuel efficiency, the new Goodyear Fuel Max LHS offers:
- Specialized, multi-layered tread compounding to promote even wear and the long miles to removal.
- Penetration resistance to help prevent stone drilling, which promotes casing retreadability.
- A steel belt and casing package for enhanced toughness and endurance, and other features.
Low rolling resistance tires
- Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) highlighted its SmartWay-verified low rolling resistance tires, which included ultra wide base (UWB), drive, trailer and steer/all-position tires. Displayed were:
- 902L UWB, a long-haul/regional ultra wide base drive tire: 445/50R22.5;
- TY517 UWB, ultra wide base drive tire that delivers traction, long, even wear: 445/50R22.5
- 703ZL drive tire with 1 in. deep tread: 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5, 285/75R24.5 and 11R24.5;
- 709ZL drive tire that combines the latest breakthroughs in casing design, rubber compounding and tread design: 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5, 285/75R24.5 and 11R24.5;
- TY517MC2 ultra-fuel efficient line-haul drive tire 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5, 285/75R24.5 and 11R24.5; and
- RY407 UWB Trailer tire 445/50R22.5.
These tires represent the best advancements available for tires today.
