Verizon Connect has introduced Verizon Connect Fleet for Government, a platform to help federal, state and local agencies run safer fleets, gain insight into operations and fleet maintenance and better communicate with workers and first responders in the field, Verizon says.

Verizon Connect Fleet for Government can produce automated vehicle fault code notifications and service schedule reminders, dashboards and driver scorecards and monitor vehicles, assets and worker activity with the Verizon Connect Spotlight mobile application, the company says.

Customers can also opt for enhancements including high-precision tracking; law enforcement light bar alerts; Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) with verified walk around tracking; and Verizon Connect Share, which allows agencies to share near real-time vehicle locations with third parties to help first responders and emergency response teams operate beyond the boundaries of their own fleets and workers. Verizon Connect Fleet for Government also uses commonly used web APIs to be able to bring data from Verizon Connect into existing software systems, including AssetWorks, Verizon Connect says.
