Freightliner Business Class M2 106 hybrid trucks added to Denver’s fleet

The Denver Fleet Management Division added four Freightliner Business Class M2 106 hybrid trucks to its fleet. The medium-duty hybrid truck features the Eaton Hybrid Electric parallel Drivetrain System that enables the truck to operate using the diesel engine alone, or in combination with the hybrid electric motor.

Peterbilt unveils production-ready Model 320 hybrid

The new Model 320 Hybrid Class 8 refuse truck from Peterbilt is designed for vocational stop-and-go applications such as refuse collection. The low-cab-forward model utilizes Eaton’s Hydraulic Launch Assist (HLA) technology, which captures the truck’s kinetic energy during braking to assist in launching and accelerating the vehicle. Testing has shown a reduction in maintenance costs, and indicated the potential to reduce annual brake replacement costs by more than 4 times over a similar non-hybrid baseline truck, Peterbilt said.
