ALK Technologies’ PC*MILER 26 gets TMW Systems’ support

ALK Technologies Inc. and TMW Systems announced that PC*MILER 26 is now tested and approved for use with multiple TMW Systems products, including: IDSC ExpertFuel, IDSC TripAlert, IDSC MatchAdvice, Appian DirectRoute, Innovative IES, Access and Access Plus, TMWSuite and TruckMate.

ALK Technologies Inc. and TMW Systems announced that industry-standard PC*MILER 26 is now tested and approved for use with multiple TMW Systems products, including: IDSC ExpertFuel, IDSC TripAlert, IDSC MatchAdvice, Appian DirectRoute, Innovative IES, Access and Access Plus, TMWSuite and TruckMate. In addition, PC*MILER Tolls 26 has been tested and approved for use with TMWSuite, IDSC ExpertFuel, IDSC TripAlert and IDSC MatchAdvice.

PC*MILER 26 also can be delivered as a hosted solutions offering through TMW Cloud Services when used with any of the referenced TMW products. TMW Cloud Services offers enterprise-class application hosting for TMW customers that can reduce IT risk and infrastructure investments, ensure system scalability and streamline technology deployments, the company added.

Additionally, TMW has begun the integration of RouteSync, a significant new capability of PC*MILER 26. RouteSync acts as the crucial link between the planned route in the back office and the navigated route in the cab – delivering guidance to drive the miles that are being paid. With RouteSync, dispatchers can send PC*MILER optimized routes directly to drivers running CoPilot Truck on an on-board device, smartphone or tablet.

"Many critical carrier, 3PL and shipper operations depend upon PC*MILER and trusted data from ALK Technologies," said Jennifer McQuiston, director of partner management for TMW Systems. "With the expansion of TMW’s transportation management software capabilities, the importance of supporting standards such as PC*MILER has only increased for us."

"The continued support of PC*MILER 26 by so many product lines from TMW Systems highlights our mutual commitment to ensuring customers can manage their operations based on the most accurate truck routing and mapping," said Michael Kornhauser, senior vice president of enterprise solutions for ALK Technologies. "ALK is excited that TMW is already integrating RouteSync. This will certainly provide operational consistency and improve profitability for fleets of all sizes."

ALK’s integration tools provide expanded functionality for PC*MILER 26 with TMW’s transportation management and optimization software. These tools include PC*MILER Connect, PC*MILER Mapping, and Multi-Version Switch.

In addition to RouteSync functionality, PC*MILER 26 now includes new interactive mapping features and Fastest Routing based on real-time, predictive traffic speed data, the maker said. ALK continues to be the leading provider of truck-specific routing and tolls data. Routing improvements are a major part of each annual PC*MILER release. Enhancements in Version 26 include the addition of newly constructed roads, along with their exit interchanges. Throughout Canada, the accuracy of street-level data in major metropolitan areas has been improved.
