DTNA turned over the key to the 1,000th natural gas model, the Freightliner M2 112 compressed natural gas truck, to Ryder System Inc. during a ceremony to commemorate the milestone at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.
Daimler Trucks North America produces 1,000th hybrid electric vehicle
DTNA recently produced its 1,000th hybrid electric vehicle, a Freightliner Business Class M2 106 Hybrid truck, at its Mt. Holly, N.C., plant. The truck features outstanding visibility and maneuverability and can be easily configured for a wide variety of bodies for different applications, including beverage, dump, government, landscape, towing, utility vehicles and emergency.
Daimler Trucks North America leads Class 6-8 NAFTA, U.S. markets
The truck maker said it is the Class 6-8 segment leader for the North American Free Trade Agreement and United States markets. In 2010, DTNA’s Class 6-8 NAFTA retail sales climbed to 67,800-plus units, a 31.6% market share; U.S. Class 6-8 retail sales rose to more than 56,900 units, a market share of 32.6%.
