IMI offers new alternative to lead weights

International Marketing Inc. (IMI) offers a variety of alternatives to lead weights that deliver superior performance while eliminating the use of harmful materials, the company said. Since 1989, IMI has offered EQUAL, an internal balancing compound and a vibration reduction alternative to lead weights for heavy-duty trucks. In instances when an internal balancing compound cannot be deployed, IMI’s newly introduced XACTBalance-180s deliver a better ride and fuel economy benefit, the company said.

New Recaptured Energy Technologies system can be retrofit

Recaptured Energy Technologies has developed a new hydraulic braking and propulsion system for fleet, commercial and transit vehicles that can be retrofit to existing vehicles.  The system captures wasted brake energy from frequent braking and converts it to an auxiliary source of energy to power the vehicle, increasing fuel efficiency and reducing harmful emissions, its maker said.

Versitex offers alternative to FRP

A new laminated thermoplastic composite sheet from U.S. Liner Co. is designed for truck body and truck trailer applications, including refrigerated wall panels, scuff liners and dry freight walls. Called Versitex, it provides twice the impact protection of conventional fiberglass-reinforced polyester (FRP) panels, is lighter in weight and costs less, the company said.
