3M simplifies spraying of coatings

The family of 3M Accuspray System HVLP spray guns is growing with the addition of the new 3M Accuspray HG14 spray gun for the application of coatings requiring a 1.4 mm atomizing head. The HVLP system, which combines a replaceable atomizing head and 3M PPS technology, is designed to reduce solvent consumption.

For paint removal, body filler rough shaping and feather edging, a new abrasive technology from 3M promises to provide a faster cut rate and longer life for body shops. The 3M Cubitron II Clean Sanding Hookit Disc features a triangular-shaped ceramic grain that continuously fractures to form sharp points and edges. It also has a cut rate that the company says is as much as 30% faster and lasts twice as long as conventional ceramic premium abrasives.

Cubitron II discs are available in 80+ and 120+ grit for 3-, 5- and 6-inch sanders, and are designed to work with a vacuum system or used independently.
