XL Specialized Trailers recently launched a new trailer model, the XL Knight 80 MFG. XL says the Knight, a 48-foot-long detachable gooseneck lowboy, has an overall capacity of 80,000 lbs. and a concentrated capacity of 70,000 lbs. in 16 ft. The company adds that the trailer offers 29 ft. of main deck loading space and a loaded deck height of 18 in.
XL says these are among the new features that come standard on the Knight 80 MFG:
- A mechanical, full-width gooseneck, also known as the double drop;
- The detachable gooseneck features front connection plates with three height settings for added adaptability over various terrains;
- 3 in. of main deck height variance;
- 1.5 in. of rear height adjustment;
- Front storage area to stow chains or other materials; and
- A battery backup with a four-way plug enabling lights to stay on when the trailer is disconnected.
XL says the Knight trailer has an aluminum logo decal at the front and MicroNova clearance lights. Additionally, customers can add swing-out outriggers to the main deck for hauling over-width loads. A two-foot by two-foot cutout in the rear transition provides additional space for equipment such as draw bars on tractors. The two-axle wheel area is prepped to accommodate a third axle if needed.
