To help fleets and drivers understand new electronic on-board recorder (EOBR) legislation, Xata Corp. said it provides free resources, tools and the latest news at www.EOBR.com. The new legislation requires anyone keeping paper logs to utilize a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) certified electronic logging device beginning two years after a final rule is released by FMCSA.
Xata assisted the FMCSA Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee EOBR task force in developing technical specifications for the new regulation. Since the recommendations were made, criteria have been identified that could require some review once the final regulatory Notice of Proposed Rule Making is released.
The company added it also offers Xata Turnpike, a software-as-a-service EOBR/electronic logging compliance solution that uses a cell phone, tablet computer or rugged handheld.
