Hendrickson introduces progressive load spring

Hendrickson Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems introduced its new Progressive Load Spring (PLS) for the HAULMAAX vocational rear suspension system. The PLS is an elastomeric spring which works in concert with the bolster springs in Hendrickson’s Vari-Rate Spring system.

According to Hendrickson, the PLS will improve the HAULMAAX rear suspension system by providing advancements in ride quality and stability. The PLS is continuously engaged and as payload increases, the spring further engages and functions together with the rubber bolster springs to provide additional stability. The company also notes that the PLS’s constant engagement eliminates the need for shim adjustments for most applications, resulting in reduced maintenance and lowered cost.

“PLS is another example of how our customers drive innovation at Hendrickson. By listening to our customers and monitoring the trucking industry, we are able to continuously improve our products, and we are never complacent with our technology,” said David McCleave, director of marketing for Hendrickson Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems.

Black curtains surround the room that's segmented by rolling privacy screens, blocking off the business end of a European Volvo truck (is it an FH? An electric? It's hard to tell.) Even several of the Gothenburg-based Volvo Trucks employees that are presenting haven't been allowed in this building before. But what we're here to talk about is anything but a secret.
