Set to arrive in dealer showrooms in fall 2014, the new Chevrolet 2015 City Express cargo van will mark the OEM’s first entry into the small van segment in the U.S. and Canada.

According to Volker Mornhiweg, head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, “The new Sprinter is a pioneer in new technologies, offering lower cost of ownership and exemplary safety.” The 2014MY Sprinter Van has a new look and is now even more economical, safer and environmentally friendly.

Xtra Lease expands fleet of trailers with aerodynamic side skirts
In 2013, trailer rental/leasing company Xtra Lease plans to have the largest fleet of skirted trailers in the U.S. The company also is outfitting its trailers with low rolling resistance tires. Combined, the two features can save fleets 6.5% in fuel costs.

Eight truckstops join nationwide electric plug-in network
Shorepower Technologies announced that eight more truckstops have added electric plug-in power pedestals. Connections providing 480-volt power for hybrid refrigerated trailers also are being installed at four of the eight facilities.
